LORNA B'S SPONGE GINGERBREAD
125 grams butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup warm milk
2 cups flour
1 dessertspoon ginger
1 teaspoon spice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
4 level tablespoons golden syrup
2 teaspoons baking soda dissolved in 2 tablespoons hot water
Turn oven on to preheat to 180.
Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and warm milk.
Sift in dry ingredients. Add the golden syrup and lastly the baking soda dissolved in hot water.
Pour into a 20cm square tin and cook for about 1 hour depending on your oven.
