INGREDIENTS:

 

-          1 cup warm water

-          3 ½ cups high grade flour

-          2 tablespoons olive oil

-          1 tablespoon honey

-          1 teaspoon salt

-          1 teaspoon yeast

 

METHOD:

 

  1. Mix water, honey, salt and yeast in a large bowl or mixer with dough hook attachment. Let it sit for about 10 minutes – it should go frothy
  2. Add flour and olive oil
  3. Mix until dough becomes heavy
  4. Tip onto lightly floured bench
  5. Knead well until dough feels silky and smooth
  6. Knead into a ball (you can add more flour if dough is too stick or water if too dry – it’s best to do this in very small amounts)
  7. Coat dough in olive oil and place in a clean bowl and cover with gladwrap and leave for 1 hour in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size.
  8. Gently knead into shape of pizza
  9. Roll with rolling pin
  10. Let it sit for another 15-20 minutes
  11. Prick with fork then add your favourite toppings
  12. Cook for 20-25 minutes at 180-200°
